Dr. Nina Honda

Dr. Nina Honda graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College at the University of Guelph in 1994. Prior to that she obtained her Bachelor of Mathematics degree in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo and designed computer software for five years before returning to school to fulfill a long-held dream of becoming a veterinarian. Since obtaining her DVM degree she has worked at small animal hospitals in Oakville, Burlington and Waterdown Ontario. In 2005 and early 2006 she and her husband designed and constructed Cornerstone Animal Hospital which opened in Burlington in May 2006.

Dr. Honda's family includes Leonbergers Owen and Emmett (Mini-me), and cats Mr. Burns and Oliver.

Janet MacCalman, RVT

Janet MacCalman, RVT with Shona and Keelan

Janet studied at Seneca College and became a Registered Veterinary Technician after graduation in 1999. She recently completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography at McMaster University. Janet is an accomplished, award-winning Highland dancer, teacher and Judge. She spends her free time with her Westies Keelan and Shona and her cat Chelsea.

Congratulations to Jenni on successfully completing the Veterinary Technician Registration Exam in January 2007! Jenni graduated in 2006 from the Veterinary Technician program at Georgian College in Orillia. In her spare time she likes to participate in Bernese Mountain dog events and hang out with her four cats Bailey, Chester, Oliver, Tucker, her Budgie Lewis and her lovebird Zoey.

Kimiye is a recent graduate of the Animal Care Program at Sheridan College. This is Kimiye’s second career passion. She is also a certified Canadian PGA Golf Professional. She now enjoys leisurely playing and teaching golf. Kimiye made this career change because of her limitless compassion towards animal welfare and her strong desire to make a difference in our four-legged friends’ lives. At home she enjoys long brisk walks with her husband and their German Shorthaired Pointer, Spike. She and her husband also foster cats until a suitable home can be found for them.

Dr. Cathy Kelly is a 1989 Graduate of the Ontario Veterinary College. She and her husband have four daughters: Allanah, Rebecca, Jacqueline and Shannon. Together they keep busy caring for German Shepherd Buddy, Border Terrier Molly, Lily the Great Dane, cats Dusty, Sasha, Twinkle, Cleo, Nibs, Bean and Mac, Bunnies Moustache and Grady and their 15 horses.
